We're walking to remember Briony Neill who was a Mother to Georgia And Mia and a Mother Figure to Charlotte

This year, Charlotte, Mia and I are taking part in the Walk Out of the Shadows fundraiser to commemorate a Mother, Sister, Daughter, Aunty and loved one, Briony Neill, who tragically passed away from suicide in May 2022.

We are walking in her memory and to honour the immense impact she had on the people who loved her and everyone around her. We also want to use this opportunity to raise awareness and show support for others who may be struggling, reminding people that they don’t have to face difficult moments alone.

Tragically, every year, over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life, and more than 3,000 Australians die by suicide. Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year, showing just how many Australians need someone to turn to.

Suicide has a devastating impact not only on the person struggling, but also on their friends, families and loved ones left behind.

For World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, we will be taking part in Walk Out of the Shadows, walking in memory of the 9 Australians lost to suicide every day.

We are raising funds for Lifeline Melbourne to help provide suicide prevention services and support to Australians who are in need. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can help support people through some of their most difficult moments.
