We're walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Our family are walking and running 9km around East Point, Darwin, this Sunday 13 September, starting at 6am πŸ’™πŸ’œ

We’re doing this in loving memory of Mum Lola Millar and Daniel Jarman, and all the other loved ones we have lost πŸ’™πŸ’œ

We’d love you to come and join us β€” whether you’re walking or running, supporting us, or coming along to honour a loved one or friend of your own.Β

πŸ“ Meeting point: Lake Alexander car park, near the Mangrove Boardwalk entrance

⏰ Start: 6am Sunday 13 September

πŸƒπŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Walk or run: We’ll head anticlockwise around East Point. Come for one lap, two laps, or join us later and meet us on the track.

πŸ’œπŸ’™ Wear purple and blue: If you can, wear purple and blue with us, representing our families.

With R U OK? Day and World Suicide Prevention Day this week, we wanted to come together, move our bodies, remember our loved ones and help raise awareness around suicide prevention.

We’ll be doing two laps of East Point to cover 9km, representing the people lost to suicide each day and honouring those who are no longer with us.

You don’t have to do the full 9km. Come for a lap, a walk, a run, or simply to support and be part of the morning πŸ’™πŸ’œ

Please feel free to share this invite with family and friends and invite anyone else who might like to join us.

A reminder to be kind to yourself and to others. You never know what someone else might be going through. Check in with your family and friends, keep reaching out, and if you’re struggling, connect with supports such as 13YARN or Lifeline.

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.Β

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), we will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

We are walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support Aussies in need.

Please support our walk and make a donation to help those in crisis.

Together we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

Our impact so far

We've raised $776 so far to answer 19 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
