Out of the Shadows 2024

Done and dusted

18km in the bag and over $1200 raised through the amazing generosity of amazing people.
I know like you that these funds will go a long way to help people struggling in the darkness. Life tends to throw curveballs and they'll never stop. That's the reality of existence, but as long as there's people willing to step up and make a difference then those who are struggling through the curveballs of life will have a space and a place to find the help they need. If you even consider for a second that someone you know might be going down the path of suicidal ideations the easiest thing for you to do is utter these words " I see you. I hear you. I'm here for you…"Β
Life is extremely precious and consider this for a moment. What do you think it would take for you to get to a place where you thought your only option is to take your life? For most of us, this is a completely alien concept. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's okay not to understand, but it's not okay to sit back and watch a tragedy unfold before your eyes without taking some action. I know very well from my own experience that if it wasn't for my friends who saw my pain lifted me up metaphorically and physically and got me out of harm's way before I could do any more damage, I wouldn't be here today.
Anyway to everyone know that you are loved. Know that you have worth and no that there are people out there like Lifeline that are there to listen and guide you back into the light. 🌞 Travel in peace. Love to all, John

We're walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), we will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

We are walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support Aussies in need.

Please support our walk and make a donation to help those in crisis.

Together we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

Our impact so far

We've raised $1,373 so far to answer 35 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
