Our Message

Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney is proud to stand alongside the community for World Suicide Prevention Day, remembering those we have lost to suicide, supporting those who are struggling, and working together towards a future free from suicide.

Every day, nine Australians lose their lives to suicide. On 10 September, you can walk 9km to honour their memory — walking for loved ones, for friends and family, or in solidarity with those experiencing emotional distress or mental illness.

As one of Australia’s largest and most trusted Lifeline centres, Lifeline H2HS answers more than 11% of the nation’s calls to the 24/7 Telephone Crisis Line 13 11 14. Closer to home, we deliver counselling, group programs, training, and community support across Sydney’s north, providing more than 14,000 hours of clinical care, education, and community services each year.

The funds raised through World Suicide Prevention Day will help Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney continue delivering these essential services — including our 24/7 Crisis Support Phone, Text, and Chat services, counselling programs, and local initiatives like Lifeline Connect — ensuring we are here for people in their moment of need.

By walking together, let's bring hope to those in crisis, help reduce the stigma of suicide, and remind every Australian that they are not alone.
