Out of the Shadows is a national Lifeline event, but it really comes to life in the small, local moments we share here in Queensland.
We’re hosting walks across Queensland on and around World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September), and you’re welcome to take part in whatever way feels right for you. Come along for a walk, or get involved as a fundraiser to help Lifeline Queensland be there when someone reaches out, day or night.
For a lot of people, it’s simple. It’s about showing up. Stepping outside, walking alongside others, and knowing there are people around you who care.
We’ll head out in local parks, along coastal paths and through neighbourhood streets. And if you’re in a rural or remote community where we haven’t been able to host a walk this year, you can still take part wherever you are — on your property, down a country road, or in your local town. Come with a friend, family member or workmate, or just yourself. There’s space for everyone.
