We're walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
For World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, we, the NSWRL Match Officials Squad, are coming together alongside our NRL and QLD counterparts to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention.
Tragically, more than 3,000 Australians die by suicide each year, with around 9 lives lost every day. Lifeline receives more than 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.
On September 9, we’ll dedicate our training session to the cause, incorporating the number 9 throughout to recognise the 9 Australians lost to suicide every day.
Mental health and suicide have impacted so many of us through family, friends, colleagues or our own experiences. You never really know what someone beside you might be going through.
We’re raising funds to support Lifeline’s suicide prevention and crisis support services and help those in need.
