We're walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
63 kilometres. One for each of the 63 Australians who lose their lives to suicide every week.
This World Suicide Prevention Day, members of the Ruyton community are coming together to take part in Lifeline’s Out of the Shadows Walk; walking to remember those lost to suicide, stand alongside those experiencing crisis and remind others that no one should have to face their darkest moments alone.
Across the week, our team will walk 63 kilometres. For us, each kilometre represents more than a statistic. It represents a life, the people who loved them, and the importance of creating a community where people feel able to speak up, reach out and ask for help.
Through this walk, we hope to raise awareness, start conversations that matter and challenge the stigma that can make asking for support feel difficult. Most importantly, we hope to reinforce the simple message that there is always somewhere to turn and someone ready to listen.
We would be enormously grateful for any donations to our team. Every contribution helps Lifeline continue providing vital crisis support and suicide prevention services to Australians when they need them most.
