Walking in memory of my Brother Christopher

I am walking Out of the Shadows in loving memory of my beautiful brother, Christopher, whose life was tragically lost to suicide.

Christopher was so much more than the way he died.
He was my brother. He was loved. He mattered. His life mattered.

I’m taking part in this walk to honour his memory and to help raise awareness, understanding and vital funds for suicide prevention and mental-health support.

I want Christopher's memory to be connected with hope, love and helping others, rather than only with the heartbreaking circumstances of his death.

🩵 And I’m walking for two more people I will never forget.

Alongside Christopher, I will also be carrying the memory of my Uncle John and Auntie Joanne, who also died by suicide.

Three people I loved.
Three lives that mattered.
Three people who should never be forgotten.

Their deaths have shown me just how devastating suicide can be — not only for the person who dies, but for every person left behind trying to understand, grieve and somehow carry on.

That's why suicide prevention means so much to me.

I want to help create a world where people feel able to speak honestly when they aren't okay, where reaching out isn't something to be ashamed of, and where people can find support before they reach a point of feeling that there is no other way forward.

🌿 This walk is for them.

For Christopher.
For Uncle John.
For Auntie Joanne.
For every family who has been left grieving.
And for every person who is still here and needs someone to reach back.
