Blog Post 5/5 - Glasshouse

It felt pretty terrible being back here. A reminder of the absolute darkest moment of my life. But I also felt some peace/closure doing this particular walk.

I'm grateful to be alive, grateful to be well, grateful for the people I love, grateful for the people who love and support me unconditionally. I want to make a lot less mistakes and live in the sunshine with my boy. I'm one of the lucky ones.

Jesse, I think about you all the time. You were utterly, heartbreakingly, tragically, too young to go. You were intelligent, passionate and had only just started to find your place in the world. I think about some of the conversations we had, and I'm sorry I didn't do more.

Sam, after living such a big life, I think you got really, really tired of the chaos in your mind. You lived to the absolute fullest, and lived for your friends. All the crazy and funny stories of you will live on in the minds of everyone that knew you. Despite how you felt you still had so much life to live.

Bob, I never got to meet you but you were so loved and needed by your family. A horrible physical illness stole your life from right under you. I can’t imagine what that must have been like. I wholeheartedly believe you are at peace, watching over your boys, and my boy (your grandson).

Greg, you were a sweet, fun-loving, family man. Your passing was a devastating loss to so many people. Your grief was immeasurable and took us all by surprise. I hope you and your soulmate are back together. You are sorely missed, and a ray of sunshine that the world is now without.
