I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
In 2023, I completed the Out of the Shadows Walk, raising $1,600 for Lifeline, thanks to the incredible generosity of my family, friends and community.
This year, I'm taking on the challenge again because this cause is deeply personal to me.
When I was young, I lost my mum to suicide. More recently, our local community has also experienced the heartbreaking loss of someone to suicide. These losses are a reminder that suicide doesn't just take lives, it also has a devastating impact on friends and families.
On World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10) I'll be walking 63 km over 7 days, representing the 63 Australians who lose their lives to suicide each week.
Every step is in memory of those we've lost, in support of those currently struggling, and for the families and friends whose lives have been changed forever.
I'm raising funds for Lifeline so they can continue providing crisis support and suicide prevention services to people who need them most. If my walk encourages even one person to reach out for help, check in on someone they care about, or start a conversation about mental health, then every kilometre will be worthwhile.
If you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, I'd be incredibly grateful. If you can't donate, sharing this page or simply checking in on someone you care about can make a real difference.
Thank you for supporting me and helping ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
My impact so far
I've raised $39 so far to answer 1 call for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
