Walking in memory and for a future with more hope
This year I’m taking part in Lifeline’s Out of the Shadows walk to raise money for suicide prevention and mental health support. I'm trail walking 18km on the 10th of September, World Suicide Prevention Day.
This cause is deeply personal to me. I’ve experienced the loss of family and friends to suicide. I’ve also had periods in my own life where things felt incredibly dark. I know what it’s like to struggle quietly and I know how much it can mean to have someone there when you’re not okay.
The walk raises vital funds for Lifeline, helping ensure their crisis support is there when someone reaches out at what could be one of the darkest moments of their life. To provide this important service it approximately costs Lifeline $39 a call... $39 that could potentially help save a life.
I’m walking in memory of those we’ve lost, for the people still struggling and for everyone who has ever felt like they were walking through the darkness alone.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount can help Lifeline continue being there when it matters most.
My impact so far
I've raised $1,277 so far to answer 32 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
