Out of the Shadows 2023

One week to go

Well, this has kept up quickly, hasn't it? I've decided to walk the oval where Mark ended his human life. Footy finals will be on but that's ok. Means the bar will be open when I finish. Lol. Haven't been to the oval since Mark died so might go this week and get that part over with. Not looking forward to Sunday. But looking forward to healing a little more each day.
Thanks to those who have donated so far. Means a lot.

Day Dot

The algorithms of social media brought the Lifeline fund-raiser to me so I signed up without hesitation.
A few years ago I was less than an hour away from driving off The Great Ocean Road to end my life. I had it all planned out. Thankfully, I was given another option...... to live. But nothing could prepare me for the pain I would feel when a close friend would go through with ending his life just this week. The mixed up emotions is surreal.
Please, help me help someone else by donating to my walk. If donating is something you are unable to do, that's absolutely OK....... could you please share my link instead?
This walk is just one foot in front of the other, as is life.

On the flip side, I think I'd better get me some decent walking shoes. 9kms is gunna be a killer. But not as much as the demons in our heads can be to those struggling with life. Time to start stretching.

For those we have loved and lost.

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

On World Suicide Prevention Day, I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.

Please support my walk and sponsor me to help those in crisis.

Together, we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

My impact so far

I've raised $252 so far to answer 6 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
