I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

💙 My Lifeline Out of the Shadows Walk Fundraiser 💙

This week, starting Thursday, I will be walking 63km in 7 days - 9km a day for the 9 lives we lose to suicide each day.

That’s why I’m stepping out of the Shadows. Not just to raise money, but to help shine a light on suicide, mental health and the importance of reaching out when things become too much.

This walk is for the people we’ve lost.
It’s for the people who are struggling silently.
It’s for the families and friends left behind.
And it’s for anyone who has ever felt like they couldn’t keep going.

Behind this is also something much more personal.

I've struggled with my mental health for a very long time, and last December, I reached a point where I thought the only way out was to end my life. After acting on those thoughts, I realised what I had done was not what I wanted, and so I needed help, so I reached out to Lifeline, Kids Helpline and other crisis support services.

I will forever be grateful that I did. Because of the support I received that day and the medical support, I am still here today.

That is a huge part of why this walk means so much to me. I know firsthand how important it is to have someone there when you feel like you have nowhere else to turn. Sometimes reaching out for help can be the thing that changes everything.

Having a brand get behind something that is so personal and important to me, and as a brand, genuinely means a lot. I’ll be wearing LSKD throughout the week as I take on each kilometre.
