Hi everyone! I just wanted to come on here to say a big THANK YOU! We’ve currently raised $2,500 for lifeline, which is an incredible achievement thanks to all of you. This is an extremely important topic to raise awareness about, as it also hits extremely close to home in countless different ways. Remember to check in on people, and always reach out. You should never be ashamed of your feelings, if you feel like doing something drastic, tell someone, even lifeline. Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.
Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.
Suicide awareness should be normalised, you should never feel shame for speaking out or asking for help.
For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), we will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.
We are walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support Aussies in need. This is a very special topic for us, we will walk with pride.
