I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
Dear family, friends, and new friends,
My name is Monica, and this month I’m taking part in something that means incredibly much to me, Suicide Prevention Month. 💛
As many of you know, I am a strong advocate for suicide prevention and mental health, and I will continue to stand up and fight for those I have lost to mental health struggles. Their lives, their stories, and their memories will always mean so much to me.
I also want to be completely transparent and honest throughout this journey. While I’m advocating for others, I’m also someone who struggles day to day just to keep going. Some days are incredibly hard. I often feel alone, and there are days when I cry more than I smile. I’m not at my happiest place right now, but I can honestly say that I am at my strongest, because I’m still here, and I’m here for my children. ❤️
Mental health can be incredibly isolating, and sometimes the hardest part is simply having someone willing to listen. So, as I take on this journey, I’m asking you to hold my hand, cheer me on, and walk beside me.
Whether I walk, run, cry, laugh, or take things one step at a time, I want to use my journey to help others feel less alone and remind them that their life matters, their story matters, and they are never a burden.
Please support me throughout this journey as I raise awareness, start conversations, and continue fighting for those who may not have the strength to fight for themselves.
One step. One conversation. One life at a time. 💛
With love,
Monica 🫶🏼
