I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Every year, more than 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life, and more than 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Those numbers are confronting, but to me, they’re more than numbers. They represent people we have loved, people we have worked alongside, people we have laughed with, and people who may have been struggling in ways we never knew.

Suicide prevention is something that has become incredibly personal to me.

Through both my personal experiences and my work supporting people through difficult times, I’ve seen just how important it is that people feel safe enough to speak, that someone is willing to listen, and that support is there when they need it most.

This World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10, I’ll be taking part in Out of the Shadows, walking for the 9 Australians lost to suicide every single day.

I’m walking for the people we have lost.
I’m walking for the people still struggling.
I’m walking for the friends, families and communities left behind.
And I’m walking because I believe no one should have to carry their darkest moments alone.

I’m also walking to continue being the kind of person who is there for you — to keep showing up, keep listening, and keep creating connections and “sole mates”  along the way. The kind of people who remind us that we don’t have to do life alone.

I’m raising funds for Lifeline, helping provide crisis support and suicide prevention services to Australians when they need them most.

If you’d like to be part of this with me, feel free to reach out and join my team, or sponsor my walk. Every bit of support means so much.

Let’s keep talking. Let’s keep listening. Let’s keep showing up for one another.

Because sometimes, being there can make all the difference. 🧡

My impact so far

I've raised $161 so far to answer 4 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
