I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
Tragically, every year more than 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide. Men account for around three-quarters of all suicide deaths in Australia, making suicide one of the leading causes of death for Australian men.
Behind every statistic are families, friends and communities whose lives are changed forever. Lifeline receives more than one million contacts each year from people experiencing crisis, many of whom are reaching out during their darkest moments.
For World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows, walking in memory of the nine Australians lost to suicide every day and raising awareness of the importance of supporting men's mental health.
I'm raising funds for Lifeline to help provide vital crisis support and suicide prevention services for Australians in need. Please support my walk and sponsor me to help ensure that more men feel able to seek help when they need it.
Together, we can help break the stigma, start important conversations, and ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
My impact so far
I've raised $89 so far to answer 2 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
