I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
Sometimes simply continuing to put one foot in front of the other is an achievement worth recognising.
This year, I’ll be doing exactly that as I take part in Lifeline’s Out of the Shadows Walk.
I’m walking to help raise funds so Lifeline can continue being there for people in their darkest moments - but I’m also walking for reasons that are much more personal.
The past year has given me a very different understanding of mental health. Of what it feels like when life becomes heavier than you ever expected it to. Of how someone can look completely fine from the outside while carrying far more than anybody around them realises.
It has also shown me how incredibly important it is to have someone there. Someone who listens. Someone who reminds you that you don’t have to navigate the hard parts alone.
So I’ll be walking for those we’ve lost.
For those who have found themselves in places they never imagined they would be.
For those quietly fighting their way through difficult days.
For the people who love them and desperately want them to stay.
And, in a small way, I’ll be walking for myself too - acknowledging the hard days, the growth, and the distance travelled. 💙
If you’d like to support my walk, I’d be incredibly grateful for a donation to my Lifeline fundraiser.
Every contribution helps make sure there is someone there to answer when another person needs them most.
Just $39 will enable Lifeline to answer a call to connect and help one person in crisis.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this post for me, or simply checking in on someone you care about matters too. 🫶
You never really know what someone is carrying. Let’s make sure no one has to carry it alone.
My impact so far
I've raised $151 so far to answer 3 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
