Day my heart broke

This year I’m going to walk for Kelsey, it’s been many years since I’ve done it, but it’s time to start again.

As everyone knows I came home one day after I finished work almost 11yrs to find that my girl had taken her own life, she was only 14yrs old.

It tore my heart into two and it has never mended, I have had to accept that it never will, there is never ever a day that I don’t think of her and have a cry.

Even though I remember her every single day, by walking for her it just makes her be remembered just a little bit more.

I have put 9kms as my walk, but with my health issues I’m not sure I will make it that far but I’m going to give it a big try, she’s worth it!

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

On World Suicide Prevention Day, I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.
