Walk for Lifeline New England North West

Walk with Us. Shine a Light. Save Lives.

This September, Lifeline New England North West invites you to take part in the Out of the Shadows Walk 2025—a powerful community event held in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day.

Every day in Australia, we lose 9 lives to suicide. To honour them, we walk 9 kilometres—one for each life lost. While World Suicide Prevention Day is officially on September 10, you’re encouraged to walk anytime, anywhere that works for you OR join our community walk in Tamworth - 6th September, and Armidale - 7th September, see details below. 

Join a movement of hope, remembrance, and action. Whether you walk alone, with friends, or as part of a team, you’ll be standing with a community united in the fight to prevent suicide.

Your steps—and your support—can save lives. Every dollar you raise helps Lifeline provide critical, life-saving support to those in crisis. And when you raise $39 or more, you’ll receive a free Out of the Shadows t-shirt to wear proudly as a symbol of your advocacy.

Together, we can bring suicide out of the shadows and into the light.

ANNOUNCEMENT! Community walks in Tamworth and Armidale

We are excited to announce that there will be community walks in both Tamworth and Armidale, for those looking to walk with others for their Out of the Shadows Walk. Groups, teams and individuals are all welcome to join us.

Tamworth Community Walk
Date | Saturday, 6 September
Time | 8.30am
Location | #1 Oval, Kable Avenue, Tamworth

We will be walking 9 laps of the oval together, for the 9 lives tragically lost to suicide each year in Australia. Participants are welcome to continue on afterwards if they wish to complete a longer distance.

After the walk, we invite you to stay and enjoy a free BBQ provided by the Peel Valley Lions Club, share stories, and connect with fellow walkers.

Armidale Community Walk
Date | Sunday, 7 September
Time | 9.00am
Location | Lambert Park, 108 Butler Street, Armidale

We will be walking 9 laps of the oval together, for the 9 lives tragically lost to suicide each year in Australia. Participants are welcome to continue on afterwards if they wish to complete a longer distance.
