I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Hudson Wicks and I have been friends since primary school. He was a friend like no other—resilient, honest, outspoken, confident, and with a great sense of humor. I will always remember the times we shared, especially our karaoke sessions at work and school. Hudson had a special way of checking in on me, and I was proud to call him one of my closest friends.

On Wednesday, the 10th, we observe Suicide Awareness Day. In honor of Hudson and all those lost to mental health struggles, I will be walking 9 km in their memory, wearing blue as a symbol of remembrance. If you're unable to join the walk, I encourage you to wear blue as a tribute to Hudson on this incredibly significant day. Take a moment to have a kick on the oval in his memory, and let us all come together to raise awareness and honor those we have lost.
