I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide, still fighting mental illness, have come out the other side and help people in crisis
Hi everyone, on the 19 September I will be doing the Lifeline Out of the Shadows walk - a 27km run/walk in Centennial park to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.
Mental illness touches so many of us, whether it be directly or through people we love, and too many dont get the support which they need. Some come out the other side, some are still fighting and some dont make it. I've seen how much of a difference it makes when someone struggling has people in their corner, and how much harder it is when they dont.
Last year my amazing mum took the time to Volunteer at lifeline Bondi. Lifeline's crisis line is there for people on the worst days, when someones got nowhere else to turn or even when someone struggling just needs someone to talk to.
Its not weak to speak, and I think alot of people dont realise that your friends and family are always going to be there for you. For this reason I'd love your company for the journey - 27km, good friends, family and a bloody great cause worth showing up for.

I've raised $3,136 so far to answer 80 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
