Day 4: 10.43km today

Today’s walk was completed in two parts, due to having a sick child and a husband at work.

I did my first walk at home on the treadmill, completing 5km in an hour and six minutes. The leg muscles are sore today, so my pace was a little slow.

Second part of my walk was just around the neighbourhood. Completing 5.43km in an hour!

Tomorrows walk, I’m thinking of heading to the beach with a friend!

Day 3- another 10km

Day three saw me walking 10km with my toddler in the pram along the river. Beautiful sunny day, which ended in a stunning rainbow 🌈

Day 2 - 11.74km

R U OK?

Today is my second day of my seven day challenge. My mum joined me today and we completed 7.13km, in 1 hour and 27 minutes, completing 10.2k steps.

I spent an hour on the treadmill at home while my toddler had their afternoon nap and smashed out another 4.61km.

Bringing my total for today to 11.74km.

I’ve now completed 22.16km out of the 63km I aim to walk.

Thank you so much to those that have donated and are supporting me.

First 10km Done

Today marked the first day of my Out of the Shadows walking week.
My dad joined me this morning and we smashed out 8.28km in 1 hour and 38 minutes and we walked 11.5K steps.
We walked along the Barwon River, we got a little wet and saw a few other people walking with their blue t-shirts on!
Well Done everyone and keep walking for those who need support during crisis.

I completed another 2.14km at home while my toddler slept.

Starting tomorrow…

Tomorrow is the first day of the Out of the Shadows walking week.
Over the next week I will be aiming to walk 63km, around 9km a day.
I have a few family members who have volunteered to join me a few times over the next 7 days.
I’ll be updating my blog daily with photos of my walks, the map and proof of the KM I’ve done for each day.

Thank you so much to those that have already donated. We’ve been able to fund 3 phone calls to those that are needing support.

I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.

Please support my walk and sponsor me to help those in crisis.

Together, we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

My impact so far

I've raised $372 so far to answer 9 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
