Sunday 15th September @11am Starting point Hastings pier I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.
Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.
Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.
For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.
I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.
Please support my walk and sponsor me to help those in crisis.
Together, we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
Suffering myself from a variety of diagnosed mental health conditions spanning well over a decade, the darkest times are so so painful, I have been lucky to have a supportive network during those times, to think of someone suffering alone in that darkness with no vision looking forward into life, feeling that pain, the ache in the chest of no way out, that makes me feel so so sad.
My target goal may not be a lot, but if I can finish the day knowing that I could help someone, or a few people for just walking 9kms with my family, my kids, friends and work colleagues then I will end that day on a positive note.
Please make a small donation and if you’re free join me on this journey on Sunday. Register to join my team “we got this”
The walk is just over 9kms return, jacks beach reserve will be the rest point 🫶🫶
My impact so far
I've raised $41 so far to answer 1 call for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
