Thank you

Thank you to everyone who engaged with me on this. I'm proud to have helped out and to have such generous friends. Thanks for the messages, the offers to walk part of it with me and the support for suicide prevention.

Walk day!

So...I set out this arvo in between bouts of heavy rain, in a jacket I thought was water proof. It wasn't. There were many very soggy kangaroos, cockies and rabbits, and by the end of it, a very soggy Sammy. The gravel was so full of water it was like walking through quicksand! Rain or cold wouldn't bother me. Only my hands get so cold I actually lost all feeling and use in all my fingers for a while afterwards.
I had many thoughts on the walk.
I figured if 9 people a day die, it was likely one person would take their life during the time I was walking.
I thought about how much discomfort I was in with my hamstrings being blown but still managed to look to the mist rolling over the hills and watch the wildlife and notice the beauty even being wet and wounded. It made me think there is always something beautiful to be found in places.
I thought, gee, I could do the rest of the walk when it's not raining but I figured half the point is to hang in there if possible (metaphorically).

Get on board

Hi guys
Please consider donating to my walk for suicide prevention. Alternatively if anyone would like to walk with me get in touch. X

I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.

Please support my walk and sponsor me to help those in crisis.

Together, we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

My impact so far

I've raised $1,509 so far to answer 38 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
