I'm walking to support people experiencing mental distress and suicidal ideation

Hi friends and fam,

Every year, over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own lives and over 3,000 die by suicide.

For World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September 2025, I will be taking part in Lifeline's Out of the Shadows initiative and walking for the 9 Australians who die by suicide every day. I will walk to work and back that day, which is 18km.

Please support my walk and sponsor me to help people experiencing mental distress and suicidal ideation. I hope to raise $546 so that Lifeline can assist 14 callers in crisis.

This cause is important to me because I have struggled myself ... I have experienced the despair of not wanting to be here anymore. I have needed to call crisis helplines for support and been amazed by the time and kindness of volunteers. People I love have also struggled with suicidal ideation and attempts throughout their lives.

Suicide impacts everyone – families, communities, workplaces. It's especially prevalent in minority populations such as LGBTIQ+ and First Nations communities. It's so important that we look after one another and check in with our loved ones.

Please help me raise money for the great work Lifeline does. Together, we can connect people with crisis support when they need it the most.
