I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

This cause is deeply personal to me.

Over the years, I have lost friends to suicide, and I have also faced my own battles with mental health, including suicide attempts. There were times when I couldn't see a way forward and believed things would never get better.

But they did.

Healing wasn't immediate, and the journey wasn't easy, but I learned that recovery is possible, hope can return, and life can become brighter than you ever imagined. Today, I'm living proof that the feelings which seem impossible to survive can pass, and that there can be meaningful, fulfilling chapters ahead.

I'm taking part in the Out of the Shadows Walk because I want people to know they are not alone. I want people who are struggling to see that there is hope, that asking for help is a sign of strength, and that recovery is possible. Most importantly, I want people to know that they matter.

Too many people carry their pain in silence. My hope is that by sharing my story, even briefly, it helps someone feel seen, valued, understood, or encourages them to reach out for support.

Every person deserves to feel that they belong. Every person deserves compassion, connection and hope.
