My why

With no plan or intentions, I’ve fallen into professional and personal roles where I’ve naturally been positioned to support many people who simply had times where they didn’t feel life was worth it anymore.

As an unqualified supporter, I can tell you every single situation was hard, but the hardest of them all was being side by side of a very passionate, smart person who struggled with the evil symptoms of depression daily.

For me, it was only for 10 years, but for him, it was his entire life.

Yet, most people wouldn’t have known a sliver of the pain of his tiredness, nightmares, or heartache.

The worst of it, was the countless doctors who simply didn’t have the knowledge around mental health to ever be in a position to make it slightly better.

Suicide is not about being selfish or weak; it’s about our medical, education, and community systems letting them down.

Mental health awareness is getting better, but we are not yet good enough. Everyone can do better because, putting it simply, statistics show one day it will be someone you know.

I ask, if you can, please donate to Lifeline because they are committed to being there 24/7 whenever someone is in need.

An average of 9 Australians die by suicide each day.

I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.

Please support my walk and sponsor me to help those in crisis.

Together, we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

My impact so far

I've raised $4,002 so far to answer 102 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.

With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
