In Chris’ memory, I will be taking part in a 9km suicide prevention walk, walking those kilometres in honour of Saintninety9 and the legacy he leaves behind.
Every step will be for Chris.
Every step will be for the people who love him.
Every step will be for those who are struggling silently.
And every step will be a reminder that we need to keep talking, keep checking in, keep listening and keep showing people that they are loved.
I will carry Chris with me for every one of those 9 kilometres.
Because although we can no longer walk beside him, we can walk for him.
His life was more than the way it ended.
His story is more than his final moments.
Chris was 28 years of memories, love, friendship, music, laughter and moments that will stay with us forever.
This walk is for those memories.
This walk is for his daughter, his parents, his siblings, his friends and everyone who loved him.
This walk is for his legacy.
This walk is for Saintninety9.
