Carrying his legacy
Last year, we lost our dad, James, to suicide. His loss has changed our lives forever, and we know firsthand the heartbreak that suicide leaves behind for families and loved ones.
This World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September), we’re taking part in Out of the Shadows in his memory, and in honour of every person lost to suicide.
Every year, more than 3,000 Australians die by suicide, and thousands more experience suicidal crisis. Lifeline responds to over one million contacts each year from people reaching out for support when they need it most.
We’re walking to help raise funds so Lifeline can continue providing lifesaving suicide prevention services and ensure that people in crisis have somewhere to turn.
