🕊️ In Loving Memory of Peter Jason Roland Grygiel 29/08/1995 – 08/05/2023

Two years ago, on the 8th of May, the love of my life took his own life. Peter struggled with addiction and mental health, battles that too often go unseen and misunderstood. But anyone who truly knew him saw the heart of gold beneath it all. He was the kind of person who would give everything he had - time, energy, love - to lift someone else up. He made people feel seen, safe, and valued. He was an incredible father, partner, brother, son and friend, and he went above and beyond for the ones he cared about. He made our world warmer.

We have two beautiful daughters together, Harper (11) and Layla (6). They carry his spark in their eyes and his kindness in their hearts. But they are growing up without their dad, and that’s a pain no child should have to bear. Our family feels his absence every single day. There’s a hole where his laughter, his love, and his light used to be. To have known how brightly he shined - and then be forced to live without that - is cruel. It hurts in ways words can’t fully express.

Suicide has affected my family and those I care about in a massive way. It’s terrifying how rapidly it’s increasing. The symptoms can be heartbreakingly easy to hide - until it’s too late. That’s why we need to talk about it. We need to check in, listen deeply, and make space for vulnerability. Especially for parents and caregivers who carry so much - your pain matters, your story matters, and your life matters.
