#LLMT – Long Live Mahonlai Taumalolo
On August 12, 2025, we lost our sweet handsome boy, Mahonlai Taumalolo, only 13 years old and the baby of his family. He was full of love and brought joy to everyone around him with his smile and loving spirit. His passing to suicide after the pain of bullying has left his family with a grief that words can hardly capture.
Every year, more than 3,000 Australians die by suicide and 65,000 attempt to take their own life. Behind each number is a life like Mahonlai’s, and families like ours who carry the weight of that loss.
This World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10), we are walking in Lifeline’s Out of the Shadows Walk to honour Mahonlai and the nine lives lost to suicide every day in Australia.
Our team name, #LLMT (Long Live Mahonlai Taumalolo), is our tribute to him, carrying his name, his story, his love, and his beautiful spirit with us as we walk side by side.
