Out of the Shadows Walk - 9km for 9 lives lost to Suicide

On Wednesday 10th of September, 2025 - World Suicide Prevention Day I will be walking 9km for the Out of the Shadows Walk to raise much needed funds for Lifeline. 

9 people are lost to suicide each day in Australia and each km I walk will represent 1 life lost.

This is a cause that is very close to my heart.  In 1980 at the age of 7 I lost my dear Dad to suicide.  He was only 40.  The impact of his suicide was life altering for each member of my family and some 45 years later it is still painful.  Time heals but immense sadness remains that he was unable to access support that may have prevented this tragedy.  I have also lost more friends to suicide than I can count.
