I'm running to remember my dad
Wednesday 10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day.
This cause is deeply personal for me. We lost Dad to suicide 20 years ago this October. I too have faced dark days where I had thoughts of ending my life. I know how important it is to feel that you’re not alone in your darkest moments and I want to make sure no one has to face that silence.
Over the next 7 days, I’m running 63km in the Out of the Shadows Walk. 1km for each of the 63 Australians who lose their lives to suicide every week. My challenge began today. 9km down, 54km to go 💪
I’m running to honour the lives we’ve lost, to stand beside those still struggling and to raise vital funds for Lifeline. Every step helps support their 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.
Together, we can bring light into the shadows and remind people they are never truly alone.
My impact so far
I've raised $2,907 so far to answer 74 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
