On September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day, I’ll be taking part in the 'Out of the Shadows Walk', a week-long challenge covering 63km — one km for every life lost to suicide each week in Australia 🚶🏼♀️🤍
My goal is to raise 🌟 $500 🌟 with all funds going to Lifeline’s suicide prevention services 📞 Whether it’s $5 or $50, your contribution could be the spark of hope in someone’s darkness ♡
Why this walk matters to me ☀️
I know how much strength it takes to hold onto life when everything in your mind tells you not to. I've been there, grappling with hopelessness, despair and suicidal ideations. Even now, I continue to navigate life on anti-depressants. These are battles I've kept to myself until now.
I want to shine a light onto the silent weight so many carry and remind us that beneath the smiles, even those who seem the most unsuspecting may be struggling.
If you are finding it hard, please don't go through it alone - reach out to a loved one, take a walk in nature & keep moving forward, moment by moment. And, one step at a time, you'll begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel you thought you'd never escape💡
